I am so pleased to report that we have so far baptized 20 wonderful people in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins this month! I am also happy to know that other baptisms are planned. Thankfully we have also had several receive the Holy Ghost as well.
In January the youth intentionally focused on repentance. Results followed and repentance led to deep moves of the Sprit in the Youth Services on Wednesday night. Youth prayer on Thursday evenings at 7PM has intensified as well. This resulted in actually establishing an "Open Your Bible" style of Bible study on Wednesday's at 6PM.
That was followed in February by intentional teaching and focus on baptism. This has led to the baptisms we have experienced recently.
Now throughout March the youth emphasis is on receiving the Holy Ghost. I literally can't wait to see the results as God pours out His Spirit on new people.
On Friday and Saturday this week (March 20-21) we are hosting Sharon Turner. She arrives from the wonderful POA church in Alexandria, LA. Monica and I have known Sharon for many years and are well acquainted with her "Healing of the Handmaidens" meetings. This week we are truly expectant as she brings to our ladies "Healing for a Woman's Heart".
I want to give a praise report because in what was only our second "Anthem" fellowship (which is designed for university age students) we had 90 in attendance! The Anthem format is centered on establishing relationships and connections. We feature great contemporary live music and someone brings the Word in a way that connects with this unique crowd. There were students there representing 4 colleges and universities. Many of these signed up to participate in a small group in their area. Praise the Lord!
We will soon initiate a new church service on Tuesday evenings at 7PM. These services will be traditional in nature. Our purpose is to thrust the harvest sickle into the unique niche of our area that prefers and seeks a more traditional environment to worship in. When this service is initiated we will shift our Wednesday evening format to a youth night where they will have use of the entire facility. The youth nights are very contemporary of course, and those who prefer a contemporary service will be free to attend those services instead of Tuesday's.
Our Sunday 11AM service is a combination of both and everyone comes together to worship our God in that service.
Come see us soon at Gracepoint.
